Privacy Policy
We protect your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Here you can find out what data we collect, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have.
Who is responsible for your data

What data we collect
- from Google, when you sign in: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier
- learning data: the languages you chose, the words you practised, your answers, XP points, streak and progress through the Levels
- your settings: theme, interface language, exercise configuration
- your profile picture, if you choose to upload one
- comments and poll votes, if you use them
- technical data: IP address and browser type in the server logs, for security
Why we use your data
- to provide the service: your account, lessons and progress (legal basis: our contract with you)
- to protect the site against abuse (legal basis: legitimate interest)
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us operate, bound by confidentiality agreements:
- the website hosting provider
- Google, for sign-in
Data from Google
We use the data received through Google Sign-In only to create and manage your StudyAZ account. StudyAZ's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not share this data with others and do not use it for advertising.
Transfers outside the EU
Some providers (for example Google) may process data outside the European Union. In these cases we rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days at most. Technical server logs are kept for a short period.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object to processing. You can withdraw any consent at any time. Write to us at contact@studyaz.eu; we reply within one month at most. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
Children
The service is intended for people aged at least 16. Between 13 and 15 you may use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian, which you confirm when you first sign in (we do not ask for your date of birth). Children under 13 cannot have their own account; if someone indicates they are under 13, the account and its data are deleted immediately. Moldova’s Law No. 195/2024 allows a child’s own consent from 14, and in the EU the age varies by country (13–16); we apply the stricter rule everywhere.
Security
We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), secure authentication and restricted access to data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we publish the new version here with the date of the update. Important changes are also announced on the site.
Applicable law and supervisory authority
We process data under Law No. 195/2024 of the Republic of Moldova on personal data protection and, for people in the European Union, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). You can lodge a complaint with Moldova’s National Center for Personal Data Protection (datepersonale.md) or with the data protection authority of the country where you live. We keep a record of processing activities. If a personal data breach occurs, we notify the authority within 72 hours and you without undue delay if it may affect you.
How long we keep each type of data
• Account, progress, settings and words: as long as you have an account; within 30 days after a deletion request.
• Technical and error logs of the server: at most 30 days.
• Link to a class or a video: until you delete your account; class data is deleted when you leave the class.
• Messages and results in a class: while you are in the class.
• Teacher diploma and photo: until the teacher deletes them or their account.
• Content reports: at most 1 year.
Coming from a video
If you open a link from a StudyAZ video (studyaz.eu/?v=code), we remember the video code only in the session, with no new cookies, to know how many visits and sign-ups each video brings. If you create an account then, we keep the link between the account and the video code; it is deleted with the account. Classes and teachers appear in StudyAZ videos only if the teacher ticks the separate consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
